In 1988 Bob became a licensed Business Brokers and joined Canadian Business Brokers (CBB), where he later held the position of President. Bob also started a new company called Vancouver Business Brokers.
Bob was President of the Western Canada Business Brokers Association (WCBBA) for three consecutive years. In this position Bob provided education and training for its members, established a formal ethical procedure paper for Realtors. He was responsible for many of the commercial legal documents used by the Vancouver Real Estate Board (VREB). The WCBBA organization eventually merged with the VREB’s commercial division with Bob’s guidance.
Bob’s previous business background was as a business consultant providing professional advice in company turn-arounds.
The premier of B.C. hired Bob to make changes in the Queen’s Printer. He also was hired by the Canadian Daily Newspapers to operate their Nadbak division in Vancouver.
Bob’s earlier background was as an owner and publisher of a suburban group of community newspapers which also included commercial printing, forms printing, graphic arts, web offset press company and distribution company.
In founding and developing Astra Business Corporation, Bob has established affiliations with several large brokerage firms in North America and around the world. These affiliations provide business acquisition opportunities which also give Astra access to their registered sellers and buyers.
He has a compelling desire to be successful in this chosen profession and his passion is backed by his business experience of over fifty years. He believes in integrity and fairness to all concerned.

Caroline began her career in the banking industry and then took her banking experience as a basis for building a career with a multinational oil company, where she held a variety of different roles in the areas of finance and business development. Over the course of her career, she launched and lead multi- unit retail and commercial businesses, lead the acquisition of businesses, raised capital and helped many businesses with their ownership transition.
Caroline has extensive experience negotiating contracts, as well as uncovering and protecting for risk including business and environmental risk. Caroline has worked extensively with business owners in a variety of industries and coached them to reach their business goals. Caroline’s approach to business has always been profit focused, team based and win/win oriented. She applies her business experience and track record of performance excellence to business owners who need professional help to get the most value from the sale of their business and to buyers who need to maximize their potential opportunities. She consulted in Resort Real Estate development and lived in the Caribbean region for five years and now resides in Toronto Canada.
Caroline received her Bachelor of Commerce (honours) degree from the University of Manitoba with a major in Marketing. She has taken and continues to take many professional development courses including the Real Estate Practicing License course at the University of British Columbia. Caroline completed her M.B.A. at the University of Calgary with a focus on Entrepreneurship and is a member of the International Business Broker Association.

Jeff studied at UBC Sauder School of Business, then ventured into entrepreneurship in sports entertainment management. He built success with professional Baseball, Football, and Ice Hockey leagues throughout the Pacific North West. Jeff brings depth of experience in negotiations, and customer service.
Jeff’s experience and dedication is reflected in all he does, which contributes to his being the top Sales Rep for a major North American Automotive Manufacturer in the Vancouver Lower Mainland.

With an extensive business background of 30+ years’ experience as a Fortune 500 Corporate Executive and Management Consultant, Al has executive experience of business operations such as: strategic planning, marketing, operations, credit, quality control, point-of-sale and customer services for companies such as CIT, First Data, and Mobil Oil. He planned and executed major downsizing, and re-engineering projects. A few of Al’s consulting initiatives generated $6+ million in bottom line savings. He has managed large-scale organizations and projects across local, regional, and national venues.
After retiring from Mobil Oil in 1996, Al founded his own boutique M&A firm – Business Strategies, Inc. (BSI) – in the Kansas City, MO metropolitan area specializing in the sale of privately held companies with annual sales of $10M – $350M. Al specializes in B2B Services, Manufacturing, Distribution, and Multi-unit Retail industries. Al also represents lower end Middle Market clients with annual sales from $1M-$9.9M.
Having lived in seven states, the District of Columbia, and working on each coast, Al brings a unique work perspective to his M&A Business. Clients have expressed confidence and trust in his ability to satisfactorily complete their engagement.
Al’s distinguished career as an M&A professional is evidenced by his professional designations such as: Certified Business Intermediary (CBI©), Certified Management Consultant (CMC®), Board Certified Broker, and Licensed Real Estate Agent serving Missouri and Kansas. He is an active member of the M&A Source, International Business Brokers Association, Texas Association of Business Brokers, Kansas City Business Brokers Association, Institute of Management Consultants, Association of Professional Merger & Acquisition Advisors, and National Association of Realtors.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Kansas City Business Brokers Association; is the past two term President of the Kansas City Business Brokers Association; served on the Board of Directors of the Kansas City Chapter of Management Consultants and was Chairperson of the Membership and Credentials Committees.
Al has been a small business owner (antiques – multiple locations/states) and a long term investor in commercial real estate (rental property – East Coast) for many years. He has experienced all of the phases of entrepreneurship, from initial idea, to raising money, to management issues, sales, and customer/tenant relations. With relevant experience being a small business owner, Al understands the intricate balance required on both the buying /selling sides of business, He believes a transaction isn’t completed once the business sale has been successfully transferred — it’s just the beginning for both parties.
Al received his B.S.B.A. degree in Finance and Industrial Relations from Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Missouri. He is a veteran who honorably served three years in the United States Marine Corps. An active speaker, Al is available for community and business organizations to discuss exit strategies and, how to successfully purchase or sell a business.

John has been working in the field of tax-free exits since January of 2000 though out Canada. He recently expanded into the USA. John works exclusively with private business owners in search of tax-free exits of capital strategies. John is principal and Sr. Analyst at MacDonald MGMT partnering with major banks and insurance companies to provide these “tax free” strategies. These strategies will be pre-approved by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
John understands high net worth individuals face unique challenges. With Astra’s SuperMax and MiniMax programs, he shows you great opportunities and how to protect your equity. Using tax-exempt insurance as a core strategy, John will introduce effective ways to build and protect your wealth. John has been previously engaged by two Canadian chartered banking institutions for analysis and consult of private company financial results and strategies. John has been engaged by Canadian banks to assess potential fraud of Client Companies.
